It seems that no one in Foa Foa knows how to make fire with a flint, except Ben. Even Ben tries to give them some tips, no one has successfully made the fire. Wow, you came to this game without any preparations? Anyone knows that someone (forgot the name…) from some previous season lost 1 million dollars because he did not know how to make fire? Amazing!

Meanwhile, Russell (the devil) tells Ben that Ashley was gunning him, because he wants to keep him around for some time.

Both tribes get their tree-mail and receive some dry clothes, bathing suits. We know there would be a water challenge.

Two members from each tribe will race out to fetch a crate, facing a member from the opposite tribe on their way, who will try to stop them. After they have all four crates, they need to stack them and make sure that there are no repeating colors on any side. Winner gets immunity and rewards. (Wonder why they only do one challenge per episode…) Russell (the devil) sits out, together with Shambo, Yasmin, Brett and Erik.

Foa Foa made another bad decision on assigning jobs to their members, Ashley and Ben both fail to stop Galu from getting their crates, giving them big advantage on stacking the crates. Although Foa Foa work very hard to catch up, they miss one side, and Galu wins again.

Russell (the good) has to face a tough decision, to have more camp items or to take comfort items. Within seconds, he picks comfort, because he thinks he needs to keep the women happy to make the whole tribe happy. But the men are not happy with his decision.

Russell (the good) also sends Shambo to Foa Foa to observer them. She gets along with Foa Foa quite well than she is with Galu, everyone seems to like her. Then she open the note and learn about the second clue of the hidden immunity idol and start searching for it. If the idol was not found by Russell (the devil), she might have found it.

Russell (the devil) tries to get people to vote Ashley out, he shows the idol to Mick to gain his trust. (Another dumb move, I think). However, Jaison is completely against it, calling it ridiculous. And both Russell (the devil) and Mick seem fail to convince him.

At the tribal council, Jaison says he would trade Shambo for Ben. Ben bluntly says he will vote Ashley because she is the weakest link. Then Ben and Jaison start to go at it. Jaison makes the entire thing about race. But to be fair, Ben did make some offensive comments, he never made any comments about Jaison or anyone else being black.

After some tense argument, time to vote. Everyone vote for Ben, he’s sent home.

Next episode, we’ll see how Foa Foa struggles without fire.

Betsy and Russell (the Evil) had a conversation the morning after the first tribal council. Russell (the Evil) found out she could cause problem for him, and decided to target her. He grouped with Jaison and openly admitted that he was looking for the immunity idol!

( Now, although there was no formal announcement of the existence of the idol, anyone that had joined this program should have known that the IDOL(S) exist. The fact that Russell (the Evil) was the only one looking for it made me wondered, had all the 20 contestants ever watched or heard about Survivor? And even when he openly admitted he was looking for it, NO ONE care about it. Wow, these guys deserves to be doomed. )

Russell (the Evil) had not much trouble in finding the idol, and he shared the secret with Jaison, which I think was a dumb move.

This episode still had only one challenge, for reward and immunity. The reward was fishing gear. Both tribes sent three team mates into the field, and grabbed a ball and threw it to another three members who were on the platform, then the three would shoot it into the opposite side’s basket. First tribe to get three wins.

Things were getting ugly in the field, slamming, hitting, cheat shots. Jeff had to call for a time-out and warned both tribes that he would expel anyone who make another cheat shot. However, Ben didn’t listen, he kicked Russell ( the good) very hard, and became the first one in Survivor history that were sent out in a competition. But he seemed to care for nothing, calling himself an “outlaw”. Foa Foa lost the challenge, mostly because of Ben’s fault, and partly because Mike’s not that physically strong.

Galu received a note along with the reward, they might send a member to Foa Foa to observe them until it’s time to vote in the tribal council. Russell (the good) sent Yasmin.

Then medical team was called in to check up Mike, who had suffered from some critical health issue after the challenge. The team felt very concern about Mike’s health, as his blood pressure was dropping, and they decided to pull him out of the game. Though I didn’t think Mike could stay long in this game, but going out of this game like this sucked.

Back at Foa Foa’s camp, Yasmin went at Ben, saying his tackling with her was disrespectful to women. Then both of them just acted like six-year old children. Later that night, Ben got up and making noises that everyone could not sleep well. His uncertain attitude made him a target and Foa Foa discussed getting rid of him.

At the tribal council, everyone agreed that they were on the same boat, though Jeff wasn’t sure. When asked about being the first one to be kicked out of the competition, Ben said the rules were sissy. What an attitude! However, despite all his uncertain and childish moves, Russell (the Evil)’s plan still worked out. Betsy got voted out. And she got all the votes. I could understand that Russell (the Evil) pulled most of them to vote with him, but everyone voting against Betsy, wow. I just can’t wait to see what Russell (the Evil) could pull out next.

Survivor has returned for the 19th season, with the biggest villain. This season, we are brought to the beautiful South Pacific island, Samoa.

The 20 contestants were divided into two tribes (Galu and Foa Foa) before they arrived in the island, but they got to elect for their leaders right away. Galu picked Russell (the good), while Foa Foa went for Mick. (Being a leader at this stage is more like a curse, good luck to them in the future. )

Mick made great choices in their first challenge, he chose Jaison as the swimmer, Russell (the Evil) as the strongest person, Marissa the agile person, Liz the smartest. While Russell (the good) made some bad choices by picking John, Erik, Yasmin and Shambo.

The swimmer swam out to retrieve a key. The strong person then unlock a bundle of heavy locks and set them up as steps. The agile person then climb the steps and make their way across a set of balance beams. Lastly the smart person unlocked a set of puzzle pieces and put them together. Foa Foa won the first challenge with a flint.

After they arrived at the camp, everybody started to work, while Russell (the Evil) began carrying out his plan of bringing chaos to this tribe. He formed separate and secret alliances with what he thought were dumb girls, and with Betsy, who he believed smarter than other girls. However, being a police officer, Betsy sensed Russell (the Evil) was lying.

At Galu, Shambo was having some trouble getting along with the youths who are in their 20s.

That night, Russell (the Evil) lied about his “miserable” story in Hurricane Katrina. Most people seemed to believe him that he almost laughed out. Then, we saw him emptying everyone’s water and burning someone’s sock in the fire. Yes, now you know why I called him the Evil.

For the immunity challenge, six members of each tribe raced across three A-frames, carrying ropes. Then they used the ropes to pull a heavy crate, and the other four dismantled the crate and use the puzzle pieces (again) to form a saying. Galu was first to get the crate, and though they had some trouble on the puzzle at first, they managed to put it together faster. Galu won immunity.

Back at camp, Mike tried to turned the attention onto the young girls, because he’s the oldest one and he literally did nothing in the first two challenges. He targeted Ashley as the weakest and some people agreed with him. While Marissa made a dumb move by telling Russell (the Evil) that she was wary of him, making her the target. Russell (the Evil) started to talk everyone into voting her out. He believed he’s running the game, though Betsy began to tell other girls about her suspicion. (However, people tend to believe no one at this very stage of the game.)

At tribal council, Mike tried to target Ashley. Betsy, when asked, chose Ashley as the weakest link. And Russell (the Evil) called out Marissa. As Jeff read the votes, Russell’s (the Evil) plan worked out. Marissa was the first person voted out.

P.S. They’ve upped the contestants to 20, so we are going to see some massive cut in the future episodes. And we should be seeing Russell (the Evil) for some time, as he’s been advertised as the biggest villain on the show.

Matty was mad at Kenny back at camp, Ken tried to explain but failed to gain his trust. Sugar said if Matty did not win the next immunity challege they’d vote him off. Ken blamed Bob for playing him, Bob made a promise he would give the immunity necklace if he won next.

Reward challenge, they had to cross some muddy swamp to retrieve three balls and throw them into the net. Matty was quick at action and so was Ken, but it was Bob who did not panic won in the end. And none of the ladies could throw any ball into the net! Bob chose Crystal and Ken to share the rewards, sending sussie to exile island. It’s obvious Bob wanted to make some alliance with them to keep himself in the game. At this point, it’s a good strategy. They talked about bringing Sugar in and voted Matty out. The rewards are some fruits, shower, clean clothes, and a trip to some gorilla park.

At the camp, Matty was mad again, making Sugar wanted to get rid of him. Sussie enjoyed the comfort in the hut.

When the three backed to camp, and after some chats, Sugar found out she trusted the wrong side. She told Matty that good guys should stay till the end, and that she would persuade Bob to join them.

Immunity challenge, everyone was asked to study some mask first, and then cross some obstacles and fill in the other empty mask with the pieces they got. Again, Matty was quick to act, but it was Bob who finished first again, winning the fourth straight challenge. Crystal was really bad at figuring directions, took her quite a long long time to cross the obstacles…

Back to camp, Kenny first told Crystal that he would get the necklace from Bob, and then blindsided him. Ken then tried to ask his old alliance to stay with him. But Matty and Sugar had other plan. Sugar told Bob what Ken’s plan was and asked him to vote Crystal, Bob hesitated.

Tribal council, Ken attempted to talk Bob over again. Bob decided not to give the necklace to Ken, ’cause he thought Ken’s not in danger. (TBH, I don’t think this is a good move, it might do himself some harms in the future. But we’ll see.) After everyone voted, Sugar shocked Ken and Crystal by giving Matty the immunity idol, “Matty, take this cursed thing away.” (A very smart move, this should gain her some advantage if she manage to the final two or three.) Everyone in the jury was very delighted and cheerful. Crystal was sent to the jury!

Next week’s the finale. At this time, it’s everyone’s game, quite hard to predict who’ll voted out next. Of the five, Ken and Sussie will definately not win even if they manage to the final three. Sugar was hated by some of them, but her strategic move of giving Matty the idol should have made some changes to the jury’s minds. Bob is the most popular one among the jury, Matty makes no enemy. Right now, my guess is that Ken will voted out next, then Bob. Sugar or Matty will win the one-million-dollar, and my bet’s on Sugar.

Big thumbs up for the crafting of another FAKE immunity idol… and the plan. though it did not work out the way they wished, but it definately worked out great on the other hand. Now Kenny, the self-called strategist, will take the bullet from his former alliance.

it’s very funny that Kenny and Crystal would be so stupid to believe in that FAKE idol story. everyone should have seen the idol that Marcus threw away, and they all have seen Sugar’s idol as well…

Bob is now in a very good position, I’d think he could make it to the final three, even two.

TBH, I felt a bit sorry for Randy, got played like this was never a good experience for anyone, though he did deserve to leave the game at this point.

that was a first in Survivor history (if my memory doesn’t fool me), that Crystal shouted out her comments when voting.

it appears to me, Sugar was playing both sides, and played well.

nexe EP would be the most crucial one, for anyone that will win this game. the safest and smartest way for Sugar would be pull Matty to her side, with Bob and Corrine, if she could make it, then she should be in the final two.

Good luck, girl!
