TheShiznit has compiled a grid matrix charting out the many roles of Nicolas Cage.

Like most actors, Nicolas Cage has made his fair share of stinkers as well as some unforgettable classics, so the vertical axis would have to be based on quality. As for horizontal – my favourite axis – well, that’s easy. Cage more than anyone has two distinct types of movie: serious, po-faced, issue movies and balls-out, crack-piped, bug-eyed brainwrongs. As you can see, Cage’s career covers the full spectrum. The truly brilliant, madcap, mercurial Nicolas Cage from the likes of Bad Lieutenant and Kick-Ass doesn’t come out to play nearly as often as straight-faced, paycheque-hunting, Season Of The Witch Nicolas Cage. That’s not to say he doesn’t try – just look at the films clogging up the rubbish/mental quadrant, freaking out the rest of the matrix. And look how smug The Weather Man is.

Firstshowing has an exclusive new New Badass 30-Second TV Spot for Matthew Vaughn‘s Kick-Ass featured today. I love this movie, have been follow it for quite some time now, so there is nothing more to say about it, but suggest you to watch it in theaters next month.

Dave Lizewski one day decides to be a superhero, even though he has no powers, training or any reason.

Kick-Ass is both written and directed by British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, of Layer Cake and Stardust previously. The screenplay was co-written by Vaughn and his writing partner Jane Goldman, of Stardust as well. The story is an adaptation of Mark Millar‘s comic of the same name that is currently in the middle of its first series. Kick-Ass was funded entirely by Matthew Vaughn and his own private investors and sold once finished earlier this year. Lionsgate is bringing Kick-Ass to theaters everywhere on April 16th this spring.

Yes! Even more Kick-Ass! Though I believe this should be the final trailer, it’ll be in theaters in two months.

Official Plot Synopsis: The film tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers. His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).

Watch the trailer in High Definition on MySpace.

“With no power comes no responsibility.” MSN has released another red band international trailer for Matthew Vaughn‘s Kick-Ass, so, this is the fifth trailer now? Anyway, this is the best trailer of all. By now, I don’t think I need to say how much I love this film and looking forward to it. “Being a superhero is bad for your health!”
