Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains – Episode 11 Recap

Posted by: Nightheaven   in TVs / 电视, May 01, 2010

This week’s Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains presented more dramas to us, and someone’s finally being voted out for the first time.

Right back at camp, Russell confronted Parvati and Danielle about the idol that they found and played at the last tribal council. Russell always wanted to control the game, and he was definitely not the type of person that took things easy when he was not informed. He made sure that the girls knew he was very angry, but did the girls take his words serious? I don’t think so. Anyway, Russell and Parvati had to be stuck together for some more time, there were still four heroes left.

In the reward challenge, players were split into three teams of three to play a game of shuffleboard. The teams were: Jerri, Parvati, Candice; Rupert, Sandra, Russell; and Amanda, Danielle, and Colby. Everyone got two chances. Colby beat Russell in his final push and won the reward for his team.

For their reward, Colby, Amanda and Danielle took a trip to Robert Louis Stevenson‘s home where they could eat popcorn while watching the movie “Treasure Island”. Right when they arrived at the house, Amanda kept her focus on searching for the clue to the hidden immunity idol, but she had no luck. Danielle found the clue in the popcorn and she quickly took it out and dropped it besides the bed, Amanda saw it and grab it from the ground. Danielle tried to grab back the clue, the two girls started fighting like two bikini wrestlers. To make things more interesting, Colby did not try to help Amanda, but instead, he said that it was Danielle’s clue. Then, the most fascinating scene happened, Amanda, acting like a 5 year old whose daddy just told her to give the toy back to her sister, handed over the clue to Danielle!  She just gave it to her!

Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains – Episode 10 Recap

vlcsnap-2010-04-24-21h56m21s162

This week’s Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains just made everyone speechless by bringing us the greatest move made by any Survivor player ever. Russell made one of the boldest move by giving away the idol to Parvati couple of weeks ago, but Parvati just topped it this week.

This week, it’s finally time for the long awaited merge. Five heroes vs five villains, it looked like a fair game? Wrong, the villains had two idols!

Soon after the villains arrived at the heroes’ camp, Parvati found herself being shunned by everyone. Well, she’s supposed to be gone. So the heroes must have realized that Russell duped them and was the king of the villains’ tribe? No.

Russell made up a quick story to keep the trust and faith that JT, Colby and Rupert have in him. His story went: he tried to play the idol from JT and voted Parvati out, but Parvati had one and played it as well, so both idols had been flushed out and Courtney was sent home in the revote. It would sound like implausible to everyone, but not to the heroes.

Later, Sandra grabbed hold of Rupert and tried to fill him in what was really happening in her tribe. Russell was the kingpin and Parvati was his right hand woman. Russell was lying to the heroes. Rupert thought it over and realized that something might not be right. He quickly talked to his alliance to fill in. Rupert tried to explain and persuade them, but they were just so dumb to believe him, especially JT. However, they did reach an agreement that they would not tell Russell the real person that they would vote out.

Then, the couple from Micronesia, Amanda and Parvati finally caught up with each other. It looked like Amanda was confused and didn’t know what to do. She told Parvati that she wanted to play on her side again, and Parviti bought it, telling her that she had an idol.

Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains – Episode 9 Recap

Posted by: Nightheaven   in TVs / 电视, Apr 17, 2010

This week, Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains delivered the most controversial scene of all seasons (in my POV).

Back from the tribal council, Jerri was very worried that she might be voted out following Coach’s elimination. Danielle tried to reassure her in the woods, Russell gave her his word as well.

At the reward challenge, when the heroes saw that Coach had been voted out, they were completely, 100% convinced (without any solid proof) that the women were running the show. Russell gave a sad face to the heroes just to sell them on it a little more.

The reward challenge was one that we saw in Survivor: Tocantins, JT won it then and Coach got hurt. Players must position themselves two walls and place their feet on narrow wooden pegs. They would have to step on different pegs along the way, the pegs got smaller and smaller. While this time, the two tribes would have to pitted against each other in 1-on-1 matches. If one person falls or steps down, the opponent gets a point. Both tribes were asked to rank their members strongest to weakest to determine the matchups. Winner would receive a feast from Outback steakhouse, including steak, shrimp on the barbie, loaded baked potatoes and salad.

This time, the villains made a very good decision with the ranking. The matchups were:  Danielle vs. Candice, Courtney vs. Amanda, Parvati vs. JT, Jerri vs. Colby, and Sandra vs. Rupert. Colby was the first one to fall off right after they were asked to step on the smallest pegs. Rupert was the second one, his broken toes hurt him. Amanda was out third, and the heroes lost.

During their Outback feast, a clue to the hidden immunity idol fell out of Parvati’s napkin, and no one noticed that she had stuffed it into her underwear. She then excused herself to take a pee, and was joined by Danielle. She showed her the clue, and they agreed to keep the secret between them. Back to camp, they started to look for the idol, and with no difficulties they found it. (I wonder why Russell never tried to find the idol as he did in Survivor: Samoa. )

At the heroes’ camp, JT came up with the idea to give the idol to Russell at the immunity challenge if they win, and asked him to use it to vote Parvati out. The other four all agreed, JT then wrote a note that instructed Russell what to do. (Yes, they were serious.)

At the immunity challenge, teams had to maneuver a puzzle bag through a series of obstacles in the water to the beach. They then had to use the the pieces to assemble a totem pole once all five bags had been brought to the beach. It was surprised to see the villains sit out Sandra instead of Courtney.

The heroes started off with a lead and they never looked back, when they finished assembling the totem pole, Russell had not yet reached the beach.

Colby and Russell were the last to go for their tribes, and when they stood there alone, Colby told him to find JT afterwards, to get something from him. Russell continued to fool Colby by telling him that Parvati was running the show. After the heroes won the challenge, both tribes hugged each other and Russell managed to get the idol from JT without any other villains noticed. (Yes, the scene did happen. JT is now the dumbest person in the Survivor history, by giving his heart to a villain. Pro to the camera team for recording the scene without causing suspects from other people.)

Russell shared the note with Parvati back at camp, laughing hysterically at JT’s writing style and comments.

Parvati was not going home, for sure. It was down to Sandra or Courtney. Courtney tried to convince Parvati that she would be more of help to her after the merge, and Parvati kind of believed her, she talked to the other three and it seemed that they would keep Courtney.

At tribal, the issue of trusts came up again, Sandra and Danielle exchange heated words. The truce was that there was no difference between them, they were both playing the same game. Sandra was with Boston Rob, while Danielle with Russell, and it was Rob and Russell who got the call, Sandra and Danielle were just doing their bidding.

The votes came in, and it was Courtney who was voted out.

It’s interesting that the villains would keep Sandra, she will definitely flip to the heroes when the merge happens next week. The question is, will the heroes trust her? We’ll see.

Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains – Episode 7 Recap

Posted by: Nightheaven   in TVs / 电视, Apr 03, 2010
shv-ep7

This week’s Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains brings us the biggest dramatic change of this season, the clash between Boston Rob and Russell has come to an end, earlier than expected.

Till the next morning after the tribal council, Rob was still confusing on how it happened in the tribal council. He couldn’t believe Tyson was so dumb to get himself voted out, so he suspected someone in his alliance had betrayed them. Everyone was paranoid, especially when Parvati and Danielle were laughing out around their camp.

Before the reward challenge, Colby knew that it’s time that he needed to prove himself. He had been spared three times.

In the challenge, teams faced off, three on three. They had to retrieve a ball in the water and throw it into their basket, while the opposing team tried to stop them. The villains had to sit out three players, and Courtney volunteered again! (Why the villain sit out their weakest player and save her for the more importantly immunity challenge was a myth to me. But Courtney had become a player who made it the farthest without doing anything!)

The heroes dominated, they scored all three points in a row. Colby was in great shape, he scored two points. Yeah, the Superman was back. But can he hold on to that? I doubt.

Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains – Episode 1 Recap

Posted by: Nightheaven   in TVs / 电视, Feb 15, 2010
untitled-2

Since they announced this new season of Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains, I’ve been looking forward to it. I’d love to see how some heroes (especially Cirie and Amanda) will backstab other people again. But the greatest pleasure will be seeing how the ten villains working together. The premiere had some moments that we could’ve predicted (some contestants that played together in previous seasons teaming up, Russell plays his mind game on the girls), and some we would never see coming (Coach and Jerri are having a romance?!). Anyway, I love the premiere, and will definitely follow it the whole season.

The 20 contestants are brought to the beach in two waves, heroes team first, then the villains team. Love the music they played when the villains team’s helicopters flied in, quite dramatic.

After a few chats with both teams, Jeff starts their first reward challenge, and we all know what the reward would be, flint. In this challenge, teams of two would race out to dig up a bag in the sand and get it back to their mat, the opposing tribe could use any means to get it away from them.

Right from the start, the challenge became some kind of beach wrestling, very brutal and violent. First, Stephenie’s shoulder got dislocated (and the medic helped her relocated it), Rupert broke a toe (I think he might be pulled off the show some time later), and Sugar was topless. The villains took the first point, but the heroes evened it. Then Colby was embarrassed by Coach, who rode him all the way back to his own mat. How hilarious. Then the topless Sugar evened the score again. However, it was James who helped the heroes win the challenge, no one could stop him.

At first, the whole villain tribe looks like a mass, no one wants to build a good shelter, no one wants to do anything. But the next day, Boston Rob surprised everyone. He decided to make fire, by using two sticks! And he succeeded! I wasn’t quite fond of Rob before, but now I would love to see him stick around.

And then there was one more thing that I would never thought happen, that Coach and Jerri might have something. It seems that they attracted and intrigued by each other, but they try to keep some distance as they don’t want to draw others’ attention.

Meanwhile, the heroes are working quite well at first, though I think they built their shelter on the wrong site. And they’ve got four chickens. (Did the producers intentionally put them there? My guess is yes.) Again, someone surprised us in this tribe. Sugar annoyed everyone at their first night, especially Colby. Now, I really don’t get her doing that. She had no friends in this tribe, it just made her the target to be voted off.

In the immunity challenge, teams had to build a boat, then paddle it out in the ocean, retrieve a torch and paddle back, disassemble the boat, take the planks from the boat which they would use to build a ladder after a tough puzzle was solved. Candace and Parvati had completed together and won this challenge on Cook Islands, but this time they were in different teams. The heroes took a very huge lead at first, however Amanda, Cirie, Sugar and Rupert were panicked on the puzzle. The villains caught up and solved the puzzle way ahead of the heroes. Villains won immunity.

There’s no question that Sugar is the target. Though we still saw buzz starting around the camp, Cirie, Amanda and Stephenie all became a secondary target.

At the tribal council, Jeff points out that everyone is a big threat for different reasons, people who played together in previous seasons, people who had won, people who had played this game twice or even three times. Still, in the end, everyone wanted to vote for the weakest person, and that person was no one else but Sugar. Sugar was sent home.
