电影《小賊·美女·妙探》（Kiss Kiss Bang Bang）的导演 Shane Black 日前与Warner Bros. 签下执导好莱坞版真人电影『Death Note』的合同。
Shane Black 也是《轰天炮/致命武器》系列电影的编剧，不过喜欢他剧本的这次可能要失望了，他不会执笔，而是由Anthony Bagarozzi 和 Charles Mondry 两人负责。（两人也是 Black 今年稍后将开拍的电影Doc Savage的编剧）
根据Deadline 对Shane Black的采访，电影将是类似《无间道》好莱坞版，只是复制原作的背景、概念，将其诠释为美国式的故事。
It’s my favorite manga, I was just struck by its unique and brilliant sensibility. What we want to do is take it back to that manga, and make it closer to what is so complex and truthful about the spirituality of the story, versus taking the concept and trying to copy it as an American thriller.
电影的开拍时间暂时还未公布，但Black 手头还有不少工作，包括新电影Doc Savage，传言中的新《轰天炮/致命武器》电影的剧本，等等。估计新消息最快也要到今年底才可能宣布了。
