Rise of the Planet of the Apes opens this Friday, but it’s already received big buzz. The one thing that most people praise is the impressive work Weta Digital did for the movie, thanks to the contributions of Andy Serkis. Here is a 4-minute long behind-the-scenes featurette of how WETA used innovative motion capture technology to create the apes in the film, including lots of footage, interviews and more.

“This film is not possible without the work of Andy Serkis.”
