“Fate has brought you here, John Carter!” Disney has released the first official teaser trailer for Andrew Stanton’s upcoming sci-fi adaptation of John Carter of Mars, now simply known as John Carter. The main cast includes Taylor Kitsch as John Carter, Lynn Collins, Mark Strong, Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church and many others. There isn’t a lot of story, as it’s just a teaser, but it does get an epic feel. Watch it below!

John Carter is based on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ classic sci-fi adventures. The movie tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands. The cast also includes: Samantha Morton, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Daryl Sabara, Polly Walker and Bryan Cranston. Disney is bringing John Carter to theaters everywhere on March 9th, 2012.
